GENERAL
1. What is the KTM RC Cup all about?
KTM RC Cup is India’s largest Racing Championship conducted by KTM India. This is done under the aegis of FMSCI (Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India). The KTM RC Cup is scheduled to be conducted from Jan – Mar 2023 in 3 stages:
- Selections: There will be a Race Academy & Selections conducted in 8 Cities
- Qualifiers: Top 10 from each of the 8 city selection rounds will contest in the qualifiers
- Finale: Top 20 selected from qualifiers will race against each other at the finale of KTM RC Cup.
2. Who are the Race experts behind RC CUP?
Jeremy McWilliams (ex-MotoGP Racer) and Emmanuel Jebaraj (7 times INMRC Champion) along with Team Gusto Racing.
3. Is this a part of INMRC?
No - This is a KTM One Make Championship accredited by FMSCI. Winners would be felicitated by KTM India & FMSCI.
4. Are there CC wise categories in RC CUP?
No. This is a one-make race where all participants will race on KTM RC 390 GP.
5. Who can participate in RC CUP?
All KTM & Husqvarna owners can participate. The participants should show proof of ownership of any KTM or Husqvarna motorcycle. They should have a valid driving licence.
6. Can I participate if I do not own a KTM or Husqvarna motorcycle?
Only owners of KTM / Husqvarna can participate. He / she should either be a registered owner or a blood relation to the owner. Proof needs to be given and the registered owner should issue a NOC in handwritten format.
7. Do I need to bring my own bike for the races?
Not required. KTM will provide a KTM RC 390 GP for all participants.
8. Can I participate with my own bike if I choose to?
No. This is a one-make race series. For equal opportunity, all participants should be riding only the company provided KTM RC 390 GP.
9. I do not know much about racing. Can I still participate?
Yes. RC CUP is part of KTM Pro-XP’s endeavour to give KTM owners, experiences that make them a pro. This is why, we are providing you with the riding gear and professional training through the Race Academy at each of the 8 cities.
10. What do the participants of RC CUP get?
All participants will get a participation certificate. The top 3 in each city will get a memento from KTM India.
11. What is the reward for the winner of RC CUP?
Top 3 winners would get a fully paid trip to Austria where:
- a. They will get to train with KTM Experts
- b. Interact with top KTM Factory Racing Athletes
- c. Watch a Moto GP race live at Austrian Moto GP-Red Bull Ring.
- d. Visit the prestigious KTM Motohall
CITY SELECTIONS & RACE ACADEMY
12. Which are the 8 cities where selections and race academy will happen?
Delhi, Vadodara, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Coimbatore & Chennai
13. How can I participate if I don’t live in the city where selections are being held?
You can go to any of the above 8 cities that is closest to you and participate from there.
14. What will happen in city selection rounds?
There will be a total of 8 batches (20-25 riders per batch) in one city selection round. This event would happen over a weekend (Sat-Sun).
The top 10 riders out of these 8 batches will be selected based on lap time for the QUALIFIER stage of RC CUP. Additionally, the top 5 per batch (Total of 40 riders) will get a chance to participate in an amateur race on day 2 (Sunday) of that city round. This is just a friendly city level race and will not count towards the final championship.
15. What is the race academy? What will happen there?
The race academy will be a training session for all confirmed participants. These sessions will be conducted by professional racers. It will be a combination of classroom and practical sessions where you will be taught about all the nuances of track racing. Further our race mentors will give you feedback to help you improve your lap timings.
16. Can I carry my own gear for the city selection round?
Yes, you can carry your own gear. However, it will have to be checked and approved by the training team before the start of the academy session.
17. Can I participate again from a different city after taking part in an earlier city selection round?
No, you can only participate once in any one of the 8 city selection rounds. No repeat participation will be entertained.
REGISTRATIONS & PARTICIPATION
18. What are the steps to register and participate?
- 1. Step 1: Register your detail on the website www.ktmindia.com/ktmrccup
- 2. Step 2: Fill all the correct information in the form and make your payment of Rs. 2000/- for the registration fee
- 3. Step 3: You will receive a confirmation email with details of your booked slot and riding gear. Save this email and turn up for the event 30 minutes prior to the start time in the slot.
- 4. Step 4: Learn and improve your skills at the race academy and achieve your best lap time.
19. What all does the registration fee of Rs.2000/- include?
- a. Bike for racing (KTM RC 390 GP Edition) provided by KTM
- b. Riding Gear except Helmet & Gloves (Riding Jacket, Riding Pants, Riding Boots)
- c. Please note you need to bring your own Helmet & Gloves
20. What all does the Racer have to carry with him?
- a. Personal Helmet- D Ring Helmet
- b. Valid Driving Licence
- c. Valid Personal Accident Coverage Insurance Policy
- d. Covid Safety Kit
- e. Race Inners (Skins/Under suits)
- f. Face Towels
- g. Personal Water Bottles

21. What is the last date of registration payment?
Bookings depend on slot availability. There are only limited slots available for Race Academy & Selections in each city. Book early to avoid disappointment.
22. Is the participation fee refundable?
No. Participation Fee is non-refundable.
23. Can my friend participate on my behalf?
No. A rider should furnish all the required details to verify his candidature as per the guidelines.
